Clover Time Beginner Guide

Reviewed Start Here

The first hour in Clover Time step by step: codes, Hage Priest rolls, Nero Training, your first broom and your first grimoire.

Your first hour in Clover Time should go: join the AnimeCore Studio group and redeem codes, spend the Spins at the Hage Priest, finish Nero Training at level 5, unlock a broom from Master Elsie, then head to Grimoire Tower with your Crystal Mana. This route follows the quest and NPC cards on the developer’s Trello board, so you are never grinding without a reason.

Quick Start

What kind of game is Clover Time?

A Black Clover-inspired action RPG on Roblox. You roll for grimoires that give you spells, roll your race, social class and trait for passive bonuses, level up through quests and bosses, and fly between villages on a magic broom. Servers hold up to 18 players, and the developer lists Mobile, PC and Console support.

What do you need before you start?

Only a Roblox account that has joined the AnimeCore Studio group. Group membership is what lets you redeem codes, and codes are the biggest free head start in the beta.

What gives the biggest early boost?

Two things: the free Spins and Crystal Mana from active codes, and Nero Training, which permanently adds +75 Health, +35 Stamina and +50 Mana and unlocks a double jump the first time you finish it.

Step 1: How do I get free Spins and Crystal Mana?

Redeem codes before you do anything else. Join the group, open Menu → Settings, and enter each code from our codes list in the Codes box. Codes expire within days, so do this on your first session rather than saving them.

Code rewards are mostly Spins, chests, Reset Stats and Crystal Mana. Chests have holding limits: you can keep 50 Normal Chests, 25 Medium Chests and 10 Big Chests, so open them instead of stockpiling.

Step 2: Where do I spend Spins?

Take your Spins to the Hage Priest in the church in Hage Village, the starting village. You can also open Menu → Customize → Rolls, according to both Destructoid and Gamepur. Each Spin rerolls one of three passive slots:

Slot Example common result Best result Chance of the best result with a normal Spin
Race Human (94.70%) Devil (Secret) 0.10%
Social Class Peasant (49.70%) Sovereign (Mythic) 0.56%
Trait Steady Hands, Thick Skin or Coin Eye (16.56% each) Chosen One (Mythic) 0.56%

A Special Spin guarantees an Epic or better result, which is why codes like MEGADROP and 600KVISITS that include one are worth redeeming early. The Spins guide explains when to use normal or Special Spins, and the races page lists every bonus.

Note: Spins only roll race, social class and trait. They do not roll grimoires.

Step 3: Which quests should I do first?

Start with the quest givers in Hage Village and work up the level ladder. The Trello board lists 23 quests from level 1 to level 80, plus Nero’s training quest at level 5. These are the first ones you will meet:

Quest giver Level Reward
Tony 1 59 XP, 25 Yuls
Lily 3 43 XP, 75 Yuls
Orin 4 184 XP, 100 Yuls
Nero (Nero Training) 5 Permanent +75 Health, +35 Stamina, +50 Mana and double jump
Lucie 7 (see note) 184 XP, 100 Yuls
Quarry 7 269 XP, 175 Yuls
Farmer 10 637 XP, 250 Yuls
Rowan 15 877 XP, 375 Yuls
Cole 20 900 XP, 500 Yuls; sends you after the boss Salik in the Ruins

Unconfirmed: Lucie’s Trello card is titled “Quest Lv 4” but lists a level requirement of 7. Try her quest at level 4; if it is locked, come back at 7.

Do Nero Training as soon as you hit level 5. The quests around it pay XP and Yuls; Nero’s pays permanent stats, and the double jump makes every later route faster.

Step 4: How do I get a broom?

Talk to Master Elsie and complete her “Learning to Fly” training. It unlocks your first broom, the Magic Broom (Rare: Mana cost 6, speed x1, control 4). Master Elsie’s quests also give the Medium Magic Broom (Epic: Mana cost 4, speed x1.5, control 6), which costs less Mana and has a higher control rating.

Flying matters because the next stop, Grimoire Tower, is outside Hage Village.

Step 5: How do I get my first grimoire?

Grimoires are rolled at Grimoire Tower using Crystal Mana (also written Mana Crystal). There are two ways to get there:

  • Teleport with Finral. He offers trips to eight destinations, including Grimoire Tower. Trips normally cost Yuls; the paid Pass Teleporter makes them free.
  • Walk or fly. Destructoid’s route is to leave the starting village heading between 105 and 120 on the compass.

Grimoire Tower has a published pity, counted in Crystal Mana: Epic at 50, Legendary at 100 and Mythic at 250. Ten grimoires are in the beta, from Common Earth to Mythic Anti Magic. Our how to get grimoires guide covers the roll in detail, and the grimoire tier list shows which ones are worth chasing.

Where does more Crystal Mana come from?

  • Codes: FIRSTSHUTDOWN and 70KFAVSWOW! each give 5 Crystal Mana while they are active.
  • Big Chests: a 6.7% chance to drop 1–7 Mana Crystals.
  • Fragments: Normal, Medium and Big Chests can drop Crystal Mana Frags, and the Mana Wolf boss drops 1–2 at a 5% rate.
  • The world: Mana crystals come down around the map. The paid Mana Compass and Crystal Notifier show where they land.

Step 6: How should I spend stat points?

Clover Time has a stat point system, but the developer has not published how many points you earn per level. What the Trello board does show is how damage scales: every grimoire’s basic M1 attack scales with Strength, while grimoire skills scale with Power. If you rely on skills, Power is the stat to watch.

You can undo a bad build. Each Reset Stats “hands back every stat point you have spent,” and several codes give them (30KLIKES, 25KLIKES! and 600KVISITS). The stats guide goes deeper.

Where do I go after the first hour?

The regions run in order from Hage Village to Rayaka Village to Sosshi Village. The first three bosses are at the Ruins by Grimoire Tower and in Hage Forest:

Boss HP Where Quest
Salik 2,250 Ruins, by Grimoire Tower Cole, level 20
Earth Bandit Boss 3,750 Hage Forest Roadkeeper, level 25
Mana Wolf 3,750 Hage Forest Kael, level 35

After Mana Wolf, quests move on to Rayaka Village around level 40. The map page lists every area and which quests and bosses belong to it.

Why is my progress stuck?

My Spins didn’t give me a grimoire

That is expected. Spins and Special Spins roll race, social class and trait at the Hage Priest. Grimoires come from rolling at Grimoire Tower with Crystal Mana, or from paid bundles.

My codes won’t redeem

You need to be in the AnimeCore Studio group, and the code must still be inside its expiry date. Codes with a trailing “!” need it typed exactly. The codes page has a full checklist.

I can’t hold another grimoire

The game has a two-grimoire carry limit; the paid Grimoire Bag lifts it so you can hold up to two copies of every grimoire. The developer has not spelled out whether the default limit means two grimoires in total or one of each, so check what your inventory allows before rolling again. See the Grimoire Bag guide.

I keep running out of Mana while flying

Every broom costs Mana to fly, and Nero Training adds +50 Mana permanently. If you skipped it, go back to Nero; it is a one-time bonus that stays with you. The Medium Magic Broom also costs less Mana than the first broom.
